September 11-13: Science trivia, university, film and puzzle night

September 11: Lab went pretty well today. I spent ages working on a silly calculation, but I finished what I wanted to. In the evening, I went with the "lobotomies" to a science trivia activity organized by a bunch of science student associations. There were questions about biology, chemistry, mathematics, women in mathematics, physics, psychology, and computer science. I even ran into Sophie from Genome Lab! With our diverse group, we knew some of the questions, but we didn't quite know a lot, haha. I think it's time to go back to high school. It was a fun evening! At home, I watched a bit of a movie and worked on the computational analysis assignment for "Beyond the Genome."

September 12: Last lab day of the week, thankfully! Four days in a row is a bit crazy. After lab, I went to the library and worked on my computational analysis assignment for a few hours straight, because, well, I'd been procrastinating again... I turned it in around 11:15 PM and then left the library. I needed my student ID to open the door because it was so late (and 24/7 opening hours are only for students). Afterward, I went to Cynthia's, where Cailene was, and watched The Florida Project in the theater. It's an interesting movie... not much of a plot, but Cailene loves it. I found out the US also has a "Who is the Mole" version : O

September 13: Ran around Blackwattle Bay, did some grocery shopping, and cooked moussaka—yummy! Unfortunately, we don't have an oven dish, so I always use a loaf pan, but those have plastic handles, and he didn't like that in the oven. Who makes a loaf pan with handles that melt in the oven? While cooking, I met my new roommate, Camille, from France; she seems nice! Afterward, I worked on my poster for chem lab and went to Cailene, Sunny, and Angela's. Cynthia was there too. We had a fun game night: Uno, speed cards, and with Cailene, we almost finished the blue (exactly the same color, so finding the right one purely by shape) air section of a puzzle. Finished it late and walked home.
