This morning I had a pharmacology quiz (counts for 10%), but it went worse than the practice test, unfortunately. I think I passed. The lecture I had afterward was neuroscience, and there were really only 20 people present. I had lunch with the Dutch guy from the plane and then went back to the genome lab (which wasn't much today). I sat down with my lab group to work on the lab report and another assignment, but we spent more time chatting than actually doing anything. Sophie (an Australian from that group) told me about their "dare day" in high school, a kind of stunt day, but where students actually get to do something. Their dare day consisted of a list of dares\/tasks, created by the students of the year, ranging from moderately to extremely crazy (for extra credit, of course). Sophie talked about dares like trying to break into a teacher's office, skinny dipping, pushing over a cow, and less drastic things like making a crazy order at McDonald's. I made some soup at home from what I had left in the fridge, which was delicious! My roommate (the one from England) told me he's moving next week. I had the most contact with him, so that's a bit of a bummer. In the evening, I went back to trivia with the mean girls and some other people who were invited. I left halfway through because I had an internship interview for when I get back! Sounds like an interesting project, about how differences in translation (related to protein production) influence cell fate (what kind of cell it becomes), and a nice supervisor! After that, I called Arthur : ) ; he's still busy with his thesis. They've already bought suitcases for the trip, just as big as mine, haha. Then I did a bit of wood carving. I'm hoping it will become a koala, but we'll see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vanochtend had ik n pharmacology quiz (telt voor 10%), maar ging slechter dan de oefentoets helaas, wel gehaald denk ik. De lecture die ik daarna had was neuroscience en er waren echt maar maximaal 20 mensen aanwezig. Met de Nederlander van t vliegtuig even geluncht en daarna weer naar genome lab (wat weinig voorstelde vandaag).
