Nov 12: Surfing on sand dunes

November 12: Went sand duneboarding at Port Stephens, a few hours north of Sydney, which I really enjoyed. I don't know how many times I climbed those dunes again to slide down.

The floor is lava!..

A day trip through a volcanic landscape in Tongariro National Park. The volcano is still regularly active. A one-hour bus ride to the parking lot where the hike starts. It's quite a long hike, 20 km, with an elevation gain of 1200 meters.
