Got up early and went to the Holme building for a mass trauma simulation, which I'd signed up for as a fake patient volunteer. Apparently, I'd misread the time, so I was half an hour early. I worked on some uni stuff. Cailene and Cynthia arrived later. We all received an envelope with stickers with symptoms and instructions about behavior, how we were injured, and so on. I was Jan, a 68-year-old woman who had been injured in her side, back of my head, wrist, etc. I had tons of stickers on me; even my face was covered, haha, it looked funny. All sorts of chairs in the room were overturned, and red ribbon was hanging everywhere, creating a rather chaotic atmosphere. We saw the medical students already standing outside, curiously peering inside. When it was time to begin, a panic audio clip was played with helicopter noises, a description of the situation, and who knows what. The students spread out and picked out a patient to treat. After a short wait, three students arrived to treat me. I was lying on the floor and wasn't allowed to talk, so that was interesting, haha. I just had to pretend I was in pain in certain places and having trouble breathing. There were also actors hired to create panic (screaming and scared people) or to create distractions (a journalist approached one of my students and was then rudely rejected because I needed to be treated, haha). It was interesting to see and hear the solutions the students came up with for "my" situation. One of the students kept her hand on my supposed abdominal wound to keep me from bleeding to death. It was an interesting experience, in any case!
After the simulation, I went to the library with Cailene and Cynthia and continued working on my HIRAC for chem lab. After that, I had a sort of group exam for neuroscience, a strange concept, but luckily it went pretty well. When we were done, I went to Manning Bar, where Sunny was and had a nice chat. I picked up some soaps and went to chem lab, which was a complete mess. I had to evaporate some of my product, and that literally took two hours?!?! Not ideal, but luckily I was able to finish the rest.
In the evening, I went to SUMS rehearsal again, which was fun. I called a friend from Nijmegen at home, watched a movie, did some laundry, and worked on my HIRAC.

Fun practice material for medical students. And what is SUMS?
Definitely, SUMS = Sydney University Musical Society
