November 13-25: Library days, exams are approaching, and I'm quite behind on my lectures… Time to get to work.
I made brownies as a library snack, and Cynthia and Cailene enjoyed them too. While baking the brownies, I melted the pan handles because apparently the baking pan handles weren't heat-resistant? A bit contradictory, don't you think? Oh well, nobody really bakes here, so I'm sure they won't mind.
I also put my guitar on Facebook to sell, sad, the end of this semester is getting closer unfortunately :( . It went by so fast. Sold it to someone who had just landed here for her time here, reminded me of my start in Sydney.
I finally managed an 11-day library streak. I had some fun library days with Cynthia and Cailene, who showed up about the same number of times. We did distract each other with random things every now and then, but planning for New Zealand was also a big factor. Because, well, we hadn't planned/booked/thought of much yet, and time was running out. I slowly started organizing and packing at home, sad. Exams were a bit different than I'm used to in terms of organization. "Beyond the Genome" was quite long, with a lot of questions, but I think it went okay? Chemical Biology went surprisingly well. After my first exam, we had a final movie night in the Queen Mary Building with Cynthia, Cailene, and Sunny—fun!
The next morning, Cynthia, Cailene, and I went climbing/bouldering at a gym near Cynthia. It was fun at first, but while I was hanging on the wall, I suddenly got a cramp in my calf and fell on my ankle at a very nasty angle. I sprained it badly, couldn't climb anymore, and I hobbled a bit. Later that day/the next day, it got worse and more painful, and I literally couldn't put any weight on it. Using WikiHow info, I put a sort of bandage on it, though I don't think it helped much. This was after my first exam, so I still had to study for my second. So, after a day in bed, my ankle was thankfully a little better, and I could slowly walk/hobble on it.
So I dragged myself back to the library, since I don't do much at home. The night before my exam, I watched Wicked with my friends—great movie, yeeeey—and back to the library afterward, because I only let myself go to the cinema right before my exam if I went back to the library afterward, haha. The library is great here: website:
