Today I participated in the Wastefighters Society's coastal cleanup walk. We (a group of about 20-25 people) gathered at Circular Quay (pronounced "key" rather than "kweej"), where I saw an Aboriginal musician playing music. I met some new people (Grace from Texas) and saw a few familiar faces (Anin from the Science Welcome Day and Julia from Mean Girls). Someone from the US asked if I was Irish? As far as I know, I don't have an Irish accent, but this is the fourth time I've done it. We took the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly with the group. The ferry runs between the opera house and the bridge, so that was a beautiful view! It's a pretty fast ferry, too—20 minutes and you're there.
Once there, we were given latex gloves and a garbage bag. The route we walked didn't have a lot of trash, which is good, but wouldn't it have been better to walk somewhere else for this activity? Cynthia and Cailene joined the group in Manly, which was nice! I also tried to talk to other people more, because I want to meet more people. After walking, the activity concluded with tea or coffee at a cafe on the coast. Very charming and decorated in pink.
I walked along the beach with a group of people and watched the waves crashing against the rocks. Around four o'clock, I took the ferry back home.
Tried a new recipe at home: zucchini-ricotta lasagna. It was tasty, just a bit watery. Searched Facebook and GumTree for a guitar; it's been a month already :O
